Dual scope dovetail adapter for Sky Watcher AZ-GTi
This allows mounting two scopes on the mount. Screws into your AZ-GTI
mount and locks in place using a 3/4" or 19mm wrench. The Alt clutch
operates normally.
Solid machined aluminum saddle is 4" long and securely grips your
Vixen/Synta/Orion type 1/7"/44mm wide dovetail bar with two rounded tip
stainless steel T-handle clamp bolts. Main bar is solid stainless steel.
This has no provisions for ultra fine alignment of the two scopes. Keep in
mind that telescopes rarely have an optical axis that is perfectly aligned
with their mechanical axis, so if their tubes are perfectly aligned they will
be looking at slightly different places.
You can achieve accurate alignment of the altitude axis with patience, but
three-point screw rings or shimming is required for the az axis.
The reasonable use of dual scope setups is to run your alignments on the
higher magnification, narrower field scope. The object will then be near
the center of the lower power scope.
